

Throughout the year, SGN hosts quarterly meetings to engage all members in dialogue and provide a space to share and elevate emerging ideas, national research and best practices from around the country. Previous topics have included transportation, capacity building and zoning reform.

The Smart Growth Network webinar series provides free and open to the public educational opportunities across a variety of topics in the planning field. The series features high-caliber speakers instructing on the latest aspects of smart growth and offers case studies or best practices that communities can apply to their own situation.
Topics include missing middle housing, walkable neighborhoods, inclusive transportation, revitalization and redevelopment, and tactical urbanism, amongst others.
To support local communities in implementation phases of smart growth initiatives, the Sustainable Communities Accelerator Network will convene community leaders in a year-long cohort to share best practices and learn from their peers; deepen their knowledge of environmental justice, land use, climate change and infrastructure; and work interactively towards implementation of high priority actions in their community.
